What is the Event?

The industrial internet of things has become a reality faster than we ever expected. The need to track product, optimise manufacturing assets along with the drive for outsourced remote maintenance of equipment has driven the move to the fully networked, and internet connected plant. Join us at our “Connected Enterprise” free one day seminar to get an understanding of the many challenges presented by the changing manufacturing information landscape, and some of the solutions available. We will have a team of experts in these fields from Rockwell Automation & Cisco available to talk to you about your particular challenges and help you to develop strategies to handle them. This event is organised by Hanley Automation

10:00-10:50 Connected Enterprise, the challenges of the industrial internet of things (By Dominic Molloy, Rockwell Automation and Paul Taylor, Cisco Systems)

How can you adopt connected enterprise technology today?  The Connected Enterprise – Is your business ready for the future? Insight into the connected enterprise, internet of things, future business and customer trends and how you can align your business to your customers’ requirements and reap the rewards. Understand how Rockwell Automation & Cisco are cooperating to help customers with these challenges.

11:15-11:55 Big Data (Joe McGill, Rockwell Automation)

You’ve heard about big data, but is big data for everyone? On our journey, we will compare small data, big data and the “just enough” data that may be somewhere in between. In this session, we will cover techniques you can use to transform your data into actionable insights and information. We will take a look at several real world journeys that have been successful, and discuss techniques to get you started on your journey. Come and see what the big data journey is all about, and where your next steps may lead.

13:00- 13:40 Mobility (Phil George, Rockwell Automation)

Today everything from updating friends or making transactions is doable on a mobile device. So why is your plant different? Part of the Connected Enterprise message is staying connected – no matter where you are. In this session, we will take a look at today’s phone and tablet tools that take you on a journey towards mobility. We will also look at the journey just past the horizon, and discuss scenarios and tools we have in the works for the not too distant future.

14:15-14:55 Security (Mike Loughran, Rockwell Automation & Guy Denis, Cisco Systems)

In this session we will explore potential threats to industrial control systems (ICS) and the ways in which you can reduce your exposure to these threats.  We will discuss security risk assessment, implementation, audit and monitoring of ICS security and the emerging standards.  The session will cover Rockwell Automation’s in depth approach to system security and the products and services they and their partners can provide.
